Evidence before hype.
Rivium Journal is an educational publication about dietary supplements, nutrition, and everyday wellness — written for people who are tired of being sold to.
We exist because the supplement world has a trust problem. Labels exaggerate. Doses hide inside “proprietary blends.” A single mouse study becomes a miracle headline by Friday. Somewhere between the hype and the cynicism, real questions go unanswered: Does this ingredient actually do anything? How much is enough? Is it safe for me?
This journal is our attempt to answer those questions the slow way — with evidence, context, and a clear line between what science shows and what marketing claims.
Our coverage
What we publish
Science
Deep dives into specific ingredients and mechanisms: what human research actually shows, at what doses, with what limitations.
Practice
Practical guides: how to read a label, compare doses, understand third-party testing seals, and build sensible routines without the hacks.
Glossary
Plain-language definitions of the terms the industry uses (and sometimes abuses): bioavailability, standardized extract, CFU, Daily Value, and more.
How we work
Our editorial principles
- Evidence first, human evidence above all.
We prioritize randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews in people. When the best available data is from animals or cell cultures, we say so — plainly.
- Sources you can check.
Every ingredient article cites primary research — typically 3–8 studies — with direct links. No “studies show” without the studies.
- Safety gets its own section.
Interactions, upper limits, contamination risks, and who should not take something are not fine print here. They are part of the story.
- Dates and reviews.
Articles about specific ingredients carry a last-updated date and go through medical review. Science moves; our pages move with it.
- No miracle language.
Supplements can support health. They do not cure disease, reverse aging, or replace sleep, food, or medical care. If an article ever implies otherwise, we've failed — tell us.
Full disclosure
Our relationship with Rivium
Rivium Journal is published by Rivium, a US dietary supplement brand. We're not going to pretend otherwise — and we think the connection is a feature, not a bug, as long as we're honest about the rules:
- The journal's job is education, not conversion. Articles are not product pages.
- We cover ingredients on their merits, including their limitations — even when Rivium sells them. If the evidence for something is weak, we say the evidence is weak.
- Editorial content is held to the same standard whether or not an ingredient appears in the Rivium catalog.
Rivium's own promise — full doses on the label, no proprietary blends, third-party testing — comes from the same belief that built this journal: people make better decisions with complete information.
The people behind the work
Who writes this
Rivium Journal is produced by the Rivium editorial team together with independent medical reviewers who check ingredient content for accuracy and safety. Reviewer credentials appear on the articles they review.
